Back from Darmstadt

September 12th, 2005

Here it is, I’m back to Paris, at work.
The weekend at Darmstadt was pretty cool, I’ve met nice people there and gave the talk we scheduled about a proposal for collaborative maintenance.

This talk triggered a real discussion and we could summurize its conclusion with quoting Marc Brockschmidt:

That’s an interesting idea… for something different [of the QA uploads]

Indeed, it became clear at the end of the discussion that implementing such an infrastructure could be a benefit for enhancing the sponsorship relation between sponsors and sponsorees.
We have to follow the development of our infrastructure and retarget our objective: “collaborative-maintenance” should be done as a new tool for sponsors.

The pdf of the talk is available here, hope the videos will be published soon.

I’m writing this post from the Debian QA mini-conf, this is pretty cool here. My talk is quite ready now, I’ll give it tomorow. Here is a couple of pictures taken yesterday evening, just after we arrived at the University of Darmstadt:

QA mini-conf, preparing the talk

September 8th, 2005

We are working with Mohammed Trojette and Raphaël Hertzog on the talk we’ll give at the Debian QA mini-conf this weekend, entitled “Open discussion: infrastructure for collaborative maintenance by external contributors“.

It’s pretty exciting to prepare this kind of stuff.

Darmstadt, here we come!
